About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Development Manager to join our Philanthropy team at London Business School. As an Associate Director, Principal Giving, you will play a key role in leading our fundraising efforts, focusing on securing large gifts and developing relationships with high net worth individuals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of high net worth individuals, located in the UK and overseas, to deliver principal gifts in support of the School's strategic priorities.
  • Work closely with the Prospect Research team to identify new potential supporters and develop multi-level relationships to secure major gifts.
  • Lead and develop an ambitious advancement strategy for principal and major gift prospects, focusing on London and other assigned geographical regions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Alumni Engagement to ensure a customer-centric approach to managing existing and new supporters.
  • Utilize and attend School and other relevant events to develop contact networks with Faculty and LBS leadership, identifying and cultivating senior-level prospects as future supporters.
Requirements
  • Extensive fundraising experience at a principal and major gifts level, ideally within a university or higher education organization.
  • Proven experience closing 6 & 7 figure+ principal and major gifts, operating at the most senior level.
  • Proficient at developing relationships and influencing and negotiating at a senior management and board level, internally and externally.
  • Politically astute with a tactful and diplomatic communication style.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of fundraising outside of the UK, adept at navigating a wide variety of international cultures and customs.
  • Innovative, creative, and energetic approach to fundraising and relationship development.
