1. Overview


The Patient Booking Administrator will assist in delivering the whole patient pathway within the remit of the Greater Lancashire Hospital.

The post holder will be expected to undertake duties as determined by the Clinic and Theatre Coordinator.

  • Governance
  • The Patient Booking Administrator reports to the Clinic and Theatre Coordinator who in turn reports into the Operations Manager
  • The Patient Booking Administrator is required to operate within the limits of the policies and procedures of the Greater Lancashire Hospital.
  • Skills and experience
  • Experience in appointment bookings ideally in a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of patient administration systems desirable but not essential as training will be given.
  • Good organisational skills and a systematic approach to work with care taken over detail and due regard to confidentiality.
  • Able to work independently and act on own initiative.
  • Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
  • Selfmotivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multitask and operate successfully under tight deadlines and time pressures
  • Enjoys a fast pace, dynamic, challenging and teamorientated work environment
  • Spoken and written fluently in English
  • Computer literate in MS Office e.g., Word, Excel and other windowbased programs
  • Strong writing, listening, and speaking communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Experience working in office environment and supporting a team
  • Qualifications
  • ECDL qualification or equivalent desirable but not essential.

  • Good interpersonal skills are required for effective interaction with clinicians, patients, and colleagues.

Responsibilities
Responsible in the delivery of day-to-day responsibilities within the office, including:

  • Timely booking of patient appointments,
  • Dealing of clinic & patient appointment cancellations,
  • Responsive dealing with client and patient queries,
  • Efficient turnaround of clinical reports,
  • Maintenance of the patient management system (PMS).
  • Ensuring all patients' privacy and dignity are respected at all time
  • Ensure all company procedures especially those around data control and confidentiality are adhered to at all times.
  • Effective liaison with client representatives e.g., NHS Trusts, independent hospitals, solicitors etc. Ensuring good working relationships are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure all aspects of the patient journey with the Greater Lancashire Hospital are accurately and completely recorded including patient demographics, patient type, appointment history, clinical reports/outcomes.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with all clients.
  • Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the directors.
  • A good degree of flexibility on the working hours to cover overtime, holidays, and sick days

Pay:
From £22,388.65 per year
