If you're looking for a career that will unlock new opportunities, join HSBC and experience the possibilities. Whether you want a role that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

Global Finance is integral to HSBC's purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. Our global team of finance professionals partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward looking analysis, accuracy, efficiency, and control to frame and influence business decisions.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Strategic Planning and Stress Testing Scenario Analysis - Senior Manager.

This role will sit within the Group Strategic Planning & Stress Testing (SP&ST) function, which is situated within Core Finance. The function is responsible for conducting Group-wide forecasting exercises, including the Financial Resource Plan (FRP), Internal

Stress Tests (GIST), Reverse Stress Tests (RST), Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP), Regulatory Stress Tests (e.g. BoE's ACS and SST), and more recently, Climate Change Scenario Analysis (e.g. BoE Climate Biennial Exploratory Scenario (CBES)). It is also responsible for conducting ad-hoc forecasting analysis to inform the Group's strategic initiatives and risk management (e.g. identifying vulnerabilities and opportunities).

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Group Scenario Analysis team in analysing all Group-wide stress testing results, identifying strategic insights and recommendations, and producing the Group Governance MI for communicating outcomes and implications to senior stakeholders;
  • Be involved in supporting the development and usage of analytical tools, e.g. automated MI dashboards, deep-dive analysis, what-if analysis, stress delta management, etc;
  • As outputs are typically produced for senior stakeholders across the Group and regulators, you will need to be organised, meticulous, and innovative, with an eagerness to continuously learn and develop. This role will offer fantastic opportunities for learning how HSBC's performance is impacted under various scenarios and how analytics can inform senior decision making. It will also help you develop your technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills supported by a significant amount of senior exposure.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrable analytical skills and background of credit risk, stress testing, portfolio analysis or equivalent;
  • Experience of financial statements and capital calculation with accounting knowledge;
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills that will be used to analyse data and present insightful MI for Board-level meetings that can help drive decision making;
  • Demonstrable experience of managing, leading and motivating a team;
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

The base location for this role is London and with a hybrid working pattern.

You'll achieve more when you join HSBC.
