About the Role

Oxford Economics is seeking a highly skilled Economist to join our Macroeconomic Modelling and Scenarios team. As an Economist in this team, you will play a key role in developing bespoke scenarios for a variety of purposes, including strategic planning, stress testing, and asset allocation strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with our Global Economic Model (GEM) to produce regulatory stress tests and economic scenarios for clients.
  • Write up scenarios or economic research under our subscription services, including the Global Climate Service and the Global Scenario Service.
  • Develop bespoke models and forecasts for clients to support their business planning and asset allocation decisions.
  • Give presentations to clients about our modelling and scenario analysis capabilities.
  • Contribute to the improvement of our GEM and implement ideas to enhance its functionality.
  • Manage client queries regarding our modelling and scenario analysis.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of work experience as an economist or a related field.
  • A strong education in Economics to at least an undergraduate level. A postgraduate degree in Economics is highly desirable.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of current economic and policy challenges facing the global economy.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain economic concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams across different offices and to tight deadlines.
