JOB PURPOSE:


We are looking for a Head of Project Management with an established Project Programme management background, who can deliver complex manufacturing and engineering product development projects, through co-ordinating the end-to-end gate management process with all stake holders in the business.

As Head of Project Management, you will have strong leadership skills and proven experience leading a team of Project Managers, with strong business governance and financial acumen.

THE ROLE:

  • Implement Project management strategy to deliver against business objectives
  • Identify all key stakeholders and agree with them key responsibilities and key timelines to complete the project.
  • Contract with key stakeholders all elements and key deliverables of the plan to ensure all deliverables are completed as agreed.
  • Control and report on progress, expenditure, manpower requirements and project metrics directly to key stakeholders and plan and adjust execution strategies accordingly so that project risks are controlled, and targets are met.
  • Implementation and ownership of meaningful KPI's that drive OTIF and operational excellence
  • Development of the strategic Launch and production road map to ensure that operational KPI's are achieved
  • Monitoring and review of production trends to ensure early warning systems are in place to derisk delivery and quality
  • Management of agreed manufacturing budgets and risk provisions through all phases of the project manufacturing lifecycle
  • Regular review of expenditure on labour and material to ensure most efficient and appropriate usage of both in line with sales forecasts & project performance reviews
  • Managing capacity plans with manufacturers in in line with launch plan expectations
  • Working closely with Sales, Finance, Planning, sales and Operations and Marketing functions for optimal gate management
  • Responsible for building, collating, and maintaining Project Briefs for assigned projects.
  • Work across business to assemble and capture relevant content to create Commercial Assessments for sign off from department heads to board approval.

  • A strong communicator who can work constructively with a wide array of functions and fostering strong, productive relationships
  • Professional and passionate about success
  • Good problem solver with structured, methodical approach
  • Strong negotiation and decision making skills
  • Use of Agile and established project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, APM etc.
  • Experience within a Manufacturing Environment beneficial
