The role of the Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager at Brentford Football Club, located at Vantage Building and the Gtech Community Stadium, is operationally responsible for the strategic planning, meticulous execution, and successful delivery of all technical projects at the club's sites. This role involves maintaining the building systems and look to plan and implement new projects where technical expertise is required such as M&E systems, power loading, lifecycles of systems. This role will see the individual overseeing multiple stakeholders (internal and external), managing a dedicated team, and ensuring exceptional reliability and service at all the club's sites.

This role involves working to a football/ events schedule which may include early mornings, late evenings and weekends as required.

Main Accountabilities

  • Lead with major projects at the club sites.
  • Ensure all systems and PPM is maintained with the latest software and practice.
  • Review the architecture within M&E of the club's buildings and infrastructure, advise where risks are and a lifecycle plan to maintain and replace.
  • Assist and manage the engineering element of the HVAC systems at the clubs' sites.
  • Co-ordination among various stakeholders involved in presenting, planning and budgeting for major projects, with scope of works, risks, timelines and any other environment factors that is needed to deliver.
  • Schedule Monthly project meeting for all parties involved in the planning, delivery and post-delivery of projects.
  • Co-ordinate with the venue Operations and Commercial teams for when projects are to be scheduled (including inhouse service providers) and the impact that this may have on the end users.
  • Producing and agreeing an event plan with relevant information for all sub-contractors and stakeholders to deliver projects and special works.
  • To submit works on a booking calendar/system and communicate all requirements to the relevant stakeholders with the agreed timelines and dates.
  • Process purchase orders and monitor expenditures for Major projects and special event/ operations budgets.
  • Identify new trends and areas of improvement that can have an impact on future M&E changes/ improvements and return higher yields for the business.
  • Submit a monthly update for the Technical Manager and the Ops Director with projects, recommendations and budget forecasting.
  • Sustainability input within the club's sustainability strategy to recommend and implement best practice and new trends that have a positive impact on the operation of the business. E.g. Solar panels, energy consumption processes and sensors in certain areas.
  • To act and be the appointed "Electrician/ Engineering" role on a Stadium matchday.
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager or act as the Duty Manager for Technical responsibilities on matchdays and/or special events.
  • Undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description.
