Providing advice and guidance on equality issues for staff under guidance of the Associate Director for Equality and Inclusion.

The post holder will work with colleagues across the Trust to ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities under equality legislation including Equality Analysis and Accessible Communication and Interpreter Services.


A Champion for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, you will work to support the delivery of the Trust's ambition to facilitate a Compassionate and Inclusive culture where every member of staff has a sense of belonging and a good working experience.

You will support and lead on areas of work that support legal compliance to the Diversity and Inclusion agenda and those that are developed and coproduced with staff carers and service users.


The post holder will work closely with the Trust's Associate Director for Equality and Inclusion to develop and implement policies, strategies and measures to achieve and demonstrate good practice and compliance with equality legislation.

The post holder will lead on work streams and projects which deliver a range of national and local initiatives specific to the Trust Equality and Inclusion agenda and Trust's wider strategies.

Working in a small team and service leads for Interpreting and Chaplaincy services the post holder will deliver the Inclusion and Belonging agenda through structured work programmes and initiatives.

Working with Care Group EDI working groups the post holder will develop a Trust wide portfolio of good practice through the lens of EDI.

Working within the corporate EDI team you will support the Interpretation and Chaplaincy and Spirituality services. The team is energetic and busy working very closely to support each other and the services provided.

Your role is such that during engagement and involvement projects you will be expected to support the team at evening or weekend events, these are planned in advance and flexible working plans will be prepared to adjust hours and workload for these events.

The role is open to job share and flexible working patterns a great opportunity to be part of the cultural transformation and lead in work to embed and deliver inclusive practices.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To deliver the Trust's approach to an inclusive work and care environment through embedding equality and diversity into all relevant Trust activity.
  • To provide advice, support and facilitation to services on the implementation, performance monitoring and assessment of impact of equality and diversity objectives, actions and targets as identified in the Trust's Strategy (and it's supporting strategies). This includes evidence gathering and the implementation of actions emanating from the Trust's accreditation under the Deaf charter and other Equality Charter Marks.
  • To lead specific equality and inclusion projects and initiatives in line with the Equality work program.
  • To produce equality monitoring reports across the Trust services and business units supporting future equality action planning and target setting. For example the service and workforce equality data analysis reports.
  • To develop and deliver training programmes related to the equality and inclusion agenda across the Trust.
  • To provide administrative support as to relevant meetings as directed by the Associate Director for equality and inclusion.
  • To coordinate, facilitate and provide administration to the Trust's Equality Networks supporting contribution to reports and member engagement and feedback. This includes arrangement of scheduled calendar of meeti
