Job Description:

  • Successful applicants will be required to work with either babies, toddlers, or preschool aged children, implementing creative and learning activities, always ensuring safety and wellbeing of children within the nursery.
  • Be a reliable member of a team and work with flexibility.
  • Work with an ethos of respect and professionalism with colleagues, stake holders and service users.
  • Understand that each child is an individual and have a sound knowledge of childcare and child development.
  • Have responsibility to uphold and adhere to SSSC codes of conduct.
  • Take responsibility for each child's progress, report on achievements and complete child development profiles on a weekly basis.
  • Develop positive relationships with parents/guardians, other staff, and outside agencies.
  • Always supervise the children indoors and outdoors. Following systems are in place and highlight any concerns.
  • To ensure that the environments are inviting and resourced efficiently.
  • Be responsible for maintaining a stimulating and attractive nursery environment.
  • Be aware and act upon children's individual needs and requirements using the Wee Gems key worker policy.
  • Develop and deliver age and stage appropriate activities that will progress children's learning.
  • Ensure that all practice is inclusive to all the children attending Wee Gems.
  • Ensure you are a reflective practitioner to further evolve the practice you display.
