Position Overview

Department of Children, Education and Justice Services

Role: Early Years Practitioner

Compensation: £26,000 - £30,000 (pro rata for sessional)
Work Hours: 36 hours per week, 39 weeks sessional

Schedule: Monday to Thursday 08:00am - 16:15pm and Friday 08:00am - 13:00pm

We are excited to present a rewarding opportunity within our Nursery division. Our vibrant and enthusiastic team comprises an Early Years Officer, Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Assistants, and an Early Years Domestic. Our staff collaborates with groups of children to ensure we cater to the diverse needs of all our learners. It is essential that every individual feels included in our community. This role may involve working alongside our Primary 1 educator to facilitate play within our classroom environment or as part of the broader Nursery team. Staff members are actively engaged in decisions regarding the nursery's operations and strategies to support our learners effectively.

Our nursery features a spacious, well-lit open-plan playroom and an inviting outdoor area for exploration and learning. We seek a dedicated individual to enhance our dynamic nursery staff who can showcase their capability to deliver exceptional service with passion and creativity.

Important Information

This position is classified as regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The selected candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has resided outside the UK for a continuous period of three months or more within the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be necessary. The provision of this check is mandatory. An unconditional employment offer and commencement in the role will be contingent upon the satisfactory outcome of these pre-employment checks.
