Job Overview

Senior Early Years Coordinator

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for two Senior Early Years Coordinators (SEYCs) to assist in the management of our Early Learning and Childcare Centre while contributing to the strategic leadership and vision of the establishment.

It is imperative that candidates possess extensive leadership capabilities and practical experience in working with children under the age of five within an early learning and childcare environment.

As SEYC, you will collaborate closely with the Head Teacher and senior management to ensure the delivery of the highest standard of early learning and childcare services, aiming to achieve optimal outcomes for every child enrolled.

We seek to appoint two qualified, experienced, and highly skilled early learning practitioners.

Candidates should demonstrate confidence in all aspects of managing an early learning and childcare provision. A solid understanding of play-based learning and recent, relevant experience in child development is essential. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of GIRFEC, child safeguarding, and supporting children with additional needs.

Working in partnership with parents and educational institutions, the SEYC will operate under the guidance of the Head of Centre to advance our ambitious vision and exhibit enthusiasm and energy in all areas of practice.

A strong dedication to implementing both corporate and regulatory initiatives is vital for this role.

Applicants must hold a BA in Childhood Practice or an equivalent childcare qualification at SCQF level 9 (or be in the process of obtaining this qualification).

Successful candidates for positions involving children or vulnerable adults will undergo disclosure checks or the new PVG scheme.

The role requires a commitment of 37 hours per week on a full-year basis.

The salary range is £39,000 - £42,000.
