Hours of work for a Programme Manager : Monday to Friday - 37 hours a week, flexible on timings

Salary for a Programme Manager:
£35,500 to £39,500 annual, depending on experience

Duties & Responsibilities of a Programme Manager:

  • Develop, manage, and implement processes, tools & strategies that support the team
  • Supervise the team on delivering what needs to be achieved
  • Build relationships, understanding colleague work streams, outcomes and current systems of planning, to further direct and support
  • Create clear accountability of what is expected and ensure the system is monitored, assessed and action as and when needed
  • Ensure projects are proceeding according to budgets, plans
  • Identify interdependences and opportunities for joint working and shared learning between networks
  • Develop, submit and present status updates from the networks, including identifying where things are going well & should be celebrated, along with issues are arising which need to be addressed.
  • Through coaching, encouragement and direction, develop the skills in the fundamentals of sound project management, delivering success
  • Act as an internal quality control check for the team

Experience or knowledge required from a Programme Manager:

  • Master's degree level or equivalent demonstrable professional experience
  • Track record in directing/coordinating multiple projects and teams to successful outcomes, on schedule and budget
  • Experience in creating and implementing systems of assurance and accountability, improving project performance
  • Ability to critically appraise Programme Management systems and plans to determine coherence and deliver
  • Ability to provide constructive challenge to team members and partners in relation to delivery of work streams, identifying corrective action and matters for escalation where needed
  • Ability to oversee, influence and direct the activities of team members, whom there may not be formal line management authority, to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence to communicate and present information that is easily understandable and in a variety of formats
