To perform teaching duties appropriate to University Lecturing staff for up to half of a
normal full-time academic teaching load, combined with study for a Doctor of Philosophy
degree.

x To teach for up to 9 hours per week (term-time only) on the Faculty's programmes within

lectures, tutorials, practical work and other means of teaching as appropriate***x To assist in the development of academic programmes, and in teaching and learning
practices of the faculty***x To participate in relevant Boards of Study and lead relevant modules***x To carry out research in an area of Accounting and Finance for a Doctor of Philosophy

degree at the University***x To perform other such duties as the Associate Head of School, Head of School or Dean
may reasonably require***

Circumstances:

Degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the university of Sunderland, under the University's
regulations. Your studies are expected to be completed by the end of the term of
employment, and the thesis submitted for examination within 4 years of the start of the
Assistantship.

Training in learning and teaching in Higher Education will be provided.
