Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)

Welcome to an exciting job opportunity at a school located in Northfield. The school is in search of a candidate with previous experience as a qualified
SENCO.

The following are essential requirements for the ideal candidate:

  • A honours degree, a PGCE or equivalent and QTS.
  • Special Educational Needs Coordinator qualification or the willingness to undertake it.
  • Experience of teaching KS2, KS3, or KS4.
  • Experience of working as a
    SENCO or within an SEN department e.g. Assistant
    SENCO.
  • Experience of setting targets, monitoring, evaluating, and recording progress.
  • Experience of coaching/advising colleagues.
  • Proficiency in ICT, and in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop vision, plan, and innovate.
  • Dedication to continuing professional development.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding.

It is crucial to have experience with pupils having various additional needs, including Autism, Attachment Disorder, SEMH ADHD, ADD, and Learning Disabilities. You should be informed about the SEND agenda and dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
