Director of Buying & Supply Chain at leading retail eCommerce platform

Quest Search & Selection is collaborating with a top retail eCommerce platform specializing in consumer goods and food delivery.

This global business is currently experiencing growth and is looking for an individual who has startup/scale-up experience with a sharp, analytical mindset to lead a team in a hands-on environment.

  • Curate the product range by determining the optimal number of products, store ranges, and category allocations.
  • Lead a team of Category & Supply Chain Manager (approximately 5-7 individuals).
  • Monitor competitive price indices and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
  • Manage relationships with key accounts, ensuring adherence to cost prices, promotional activities, and service standards.
  • Negotiate deals with key accounts and regional exclusives.
  • Balance range expansion, product availability, and waste reduction.
  • Provide insights into algorithmic buying decisions and A/B tests for optimization.
  • Manage store efficiency and inventory levels.
  • Lead communication with central distribution at a senior level.
  • Develop strategies for in-app merchandising to align with the value proposition.
  • Analyze daily and weekly trade patterns, identifying deviations and proposing hypotheses for validation.

Requirements for this role:

  • 10+ years experience in Category/Buying.
  • Experience leading teams with involvement in strategic decision-making.
  • Supply chain or Last-Mile Delivery management experience is advantageous.
  • Background in eCommerce, retail supermarket, or FMCG sector.
  • Data-savvy and analytical mindset.
  • Builder mentality with P&L responsibility.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
