Job summary

An exciting opportunity hasbecome available to work as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner(PWP).Workingas part of the Taking Therapy Service in Northumberland (NTT) to deliver lowintensity service provision to residents from the Northumberland area. You willwork within Central Northumberland (Morpeth/Ashington). The position is fulltime hours ( per week).

Thisis an opportunity for qualified PWP who holds a PWP accreditation who arecommitted to the development of low intensity services to develop their skillsand experience within our organisation.

Thepost-holder will work within a service where a caseload is monitored on bookedappointments, and offers fantastic progression opportunities from LTHC/Supervisortraining to trainee high-intensity CBT positions. The service is committed tosupporting a work life balance and offers an enhanced 30 days annual leave peryear.

Thepost-holder will provide low intensity interventions including a range ofcognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions toclients experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression. The post-holderwill work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, and must becommitted to upholding the principles of equal opportunities.

WithinService we offer 4 days per annum a mixture of CPD.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will:

Provide a range of low intensity interventions through guided self-help and computerised CBT

Have the opportunity to contribute to a number of innovative service improvement projects. The service has a number of Special Interest Groups which seek to improvement the service offered from Northumberland Talking Therapies. This includes but is not limited to perinatal, long term health conditions, and young people. Our special interest group for older person's has recently conducted research in the process of being published.

Attend regular line management, case management and clinical skills supervision. Complete triage appointments with service users each week and make clinical decisions based on information gathered. Carry out evidence based interventions via telephone, video call and face-to-face guided self-help, Computerised CBT and psycho-educational classes Work closely with other PWPs to support one another and utilise skills and knowledge Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team Attend CPD events Get involved with service development projects and specialist interest groups

The successful candidates will have successfully completed an academic course of study in line with the IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and be qualified as a PWP ( PG Cert Low Intensity Psychological Therapies)

Qualifications

Essential

Qualification from PWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate or Level 3 undergraduate course) or wating for ratification/accreditation after completing the PWP Training Course.

Desirable

Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy. Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree. Psychology or other health related postgraduate degree

Experience

Essential

-Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem -Demonstrates high standards in written communication -Able to write clear reports and letters.

Desirable

-Experience of working in Primary Care Services -Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes -Ability to manage own caseload and time -Evidence of working in the local community

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

-Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training -Computer literate -Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills -Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients -Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care -High level of enthusiasm and motivation. -Advanced communication skills -Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships -Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively -Ability to work under pressure -Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality -Ability to be self reflective, whilst working with service users, in own personal and professional development and in supervision
