The role
Interested in a secondment with Newcastle International Airport Limited (NIAL) Airside Operations Unit?
Our Airside Operation Controllers work around the clock to ensure the safe running of the airside environment.
It's our team's role to work with our customers and partners to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the airfield and aircraft.
You will ensure that daily operational impediments are overcome quickly and effectively, ensuring clear and concise communications with your customer counterparts.
You will provide input into the continuous improvement of operational processes and policies through timely and accurate reporting of issues to the responsible NIAL / Concessionaires when necessary.
The purpose of this role is to monitor all NIAL airside activities, ensuring the highest performance and safety standards are met within a safe work environment and in line with the Policies and Procedures of NIAL.
Airside Operation Controller Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and secure working environment, whilst delivering an operation to the highest standards of safety.
Ensure staff member injuries and incidents are reported in compliance with the NIAL reporting process.
Lead by example to deliver a safe and operationally effective service to our airlines and their customers in line with the procedures and policies as laid out in the NIAL manuals.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and be able to adapt and respond to changing situations in a flexible, professional manner.
Provide a key operational interface between customers and the NIAL operations teams.Demonstrate an ability to communicate well, build strong relationships and rapport with people from all levels of NIAL and customer businesses.
Give a detailed shift report at the end of each shift to the appropriate person, report and produce operational documents to the management team.
Auditing of Aircraft turnrounds following NIAL procedures.Perform any other duties as appropriate in support of the business activities of NIAL.
