The RoleWe are seeking an Air Traffic Support Officer (ATSO) to join our team at Newcastle International Airport Ltd. As an ATSO, you will work under the direction of the on-duty Air Traffic Control Watch Management Team to provide technical, administrative, and practical support to ensure the operational continuity and safety of our air traffic control services.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing support and assistance to the Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) as needed to ensure a safe, efficient, and orderly air traffic control service.
- Providing aeronautical information to ATS staff and airline customers.
- Staying up-to-date with ATS and relevant airside operational procedures.
- Supporting and training future ATSOs.
- Producing and handling meteorological data as required.
- Effectively managing the stand plan on a daily basis.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a confident and articulate communicator, IT literate, and able to work across multiple applications. You will also need to be able to work well under pressure, prioritize your workload, and demonstrate dynamic decision-making skills.
