We have a superb opportunity for you to work for the NHS in the Patient Transfer Services department (Office Based) - in the area of Peterborough.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the planning of transport for future dates. Responsible for the control of ambulance service resources for the current day. To ensure all patients on our transport get home as quickly as possible

Responsibilities;_

  • To liaise between hospital staff, communications centres, transport offices and ambulance crews to ensure patients are conveyed in the most effective and efficient manner and the service level agreement is maintained at all times.
  • To Enter transport requests into the computer system and Keep records of all patient arrival and departure times at the hospital
  • To Assist Ambulance Car Service drivers with any problems or queries they may have and liaise with the Operations Resource Coordinator.
  • To deal with enquiries/complaints and comply within the working knowledge of the service level agreement.
  • To Undertake 'front of house' responsibilities as patient liaison for the Trust, when appropriate and to manage leave requests and absence management for Patient Liaison Assistants.

Person Specifications:

Physical Health -

  • The post holder must be of smart appearance with a good work attendance record

Qualifications -

  • Good basic education to GCSE standard in Maths and English

Knowledge & Experience -

  • Previous experience in the grade of Patient Transport Assistant and/or experience of dealing with the public

Personal Aptitude -

  • Flexible and approachable Able to remain calm in difficult or stressful situations Enthusiastic

Personal Skills -

  • Communication
  • Problem solving

Requirement to handle traumatic, emotional and distressing situations -

  • Post can require medium to high levels of emotional effort
  • Self Motivated

Additional Requirements -

To Be Flexible, As Shifts Will Vary Between 6am Till 10pm
