About the Job:
Rappahannock Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education in Virginia, part of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Founded in 1971, RCC offers quality educational opportunities to residents of multiple counties in the region including Essex, Gloucester, King George, and more.

RCC is currently seeking part-time phlebotomy instructors for its Glenns campus and remote clinical agencies. These instructors will provide supervision for phlebotomy students and report to the Program Head for Nurse Aide and Phlebotomy in the Division of Health Sciences at RCC. Additionally, adjunct instructors are invited to engage in the educational unit's governance.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to the community college mission, possess experience with diverse student populations, including adult learners and at-risk students. They should prioritize academic excellence, ongoing professional development, assessment, program development, and maintain a collegial environment fostering communication and collaboration.

RCC aims to build a faculty comprising content experts well-versed in best practices, innovative strategies, and instructional technologies that enhance the teaching and learning experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • National certification in Medical Laboratory Technology and/or Phlebotomy
  • Minimum of two years of full-time experience in the field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • National certification
  • At least one year of teaching experience in adult education
  • Passion for educating adult learners
