Job Summary:
Rappahannock Community College, a two-campus institution serving a rural 12-county area in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia, seeks applicants for a Manufacturing Adjunct Instructor.
About the Position:
The College desires candidates with a commitment to the community college mission and experience working in a diverse student population, including adult learners and at-risk students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach courses to serve the needs of local manufacturers in technical subjects including Mechatronics, Industrial Safety, PLCs, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Fluid Power, and Process Control.
- Master and teach content using Amatrol class materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with industry partners to develop curriculum and training programs.
- Assess student learning and program effectiveness.
- Participate in professional development and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes.
- Considerable relevant experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and professional approach.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Creativity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in a manufacturing setting.
- Associate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field, or equivalent level of training/experience.
