We are seeking a skilled Transport Shift Manager to join our team in Wellingborough. This role requires individuals with experience, determination, and enthusiasm, who prioritize colleague safety, employee development, customer relationships, and operational innovation.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Transport Manager to ensure legal compliance and efficiency within the transport team, including fleet management, meeting customer service requirements, and financial goals.
- Proactively solve transport operation issues, assess risks, and provide solutions.
- Enforce Health and Safety policies, promoting a strong safety culture.
- Monitor financial performance, assessing the impact of transport operations.
- Provide guidance, monitor performance, and ensure departmental efficiency.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies in people, processes, and customer service.
- Foster high employee engagement and inclusivity.
- Identify and develop internal talent for succession planning.
Experience, skills, attributes, and the person:
- Experience in a fast-paced transport environment and comprehensive knowledge of transport laws.
- Proficiency in digital Transport Management and planning software.
- Understanding of transport metrics and driver performance indicators.
- Experience in unionized environments with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in people management, conflict resolution, and handling complex issues.
