About the Role:
GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Transport Shift Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the transportation department, ensuring compliance with all relevant transport legislation and company policies.
- Hold responsibility for compliance with company and statutory requirements regarding Operator Licence, H&S, service quality, drivers' hours, and tacho regulations, inclusive of the working time directive.
- Comply with all relevant transport legislation covering the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained in line with legal requirements and 'O' Licence requirements.
- Be responsible for transport department resources, induction, assessment, and training, including agency staff, and supporting with HR requirements such as absence, timekeeping, and D&G.
Requirements:
- Excellent transport knowledge including route planning, knowledge of driver hour rules and vehicle/transport legislation.
- Experience of working in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent people management, coaching and influencing skills.
- Holder of Managers CPC is essential.
