Job description

Responsible for working alongside the Manager of children's residential home. Ensuring that our service users receive the highest standard of support/care appropriate to their individual needs.

Training


We will provide training required for the role including being put through Level 3 or 4 RFQ/NVQ Residential Childcare Qualification.


Main Duties:

  • A genuine empathy for young people, supporting them to achieve their goals and ambitions
  • Build and develop relationships with our young people and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the home
  • Plan and participate fully in a working rota, this will include evenings, sleep inns and weekends
  • Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/Social Care professionals
  • Conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session
  • Be responsible for the effective Safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns
  • Support our young people with everyday day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, meetings etc.

Shift patters are normally:
1 day on and 2 days off. This will be either be 10 or 11 shifts per month (dependent upon the number of days in the month) + min 6 sleep inns

An 11 shift month with 8 sleep ins & 1 bank shift per month pays £ 28,440.00 per year

Overtime is paid after completing 170 working hours in the month.

Sleeps ins are paid at £60 per sleep in

On Call payment £35 per night

Ideal experience preferred:

  • Experience of working within a children and young adult residential environment
  • An understanding of relevant legislation relating to the care of young people
  • Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties

Should have:

  • Full driving license
  • Ideally


Own transport
  • Ideally
