Assertive Outreach Volunteer

Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom Change Grow Live Full time

Overview:
Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience for the people we support. You can make a difference.

As an Assertive Outreach Volunteer with Change Grow Live you'll work with people in the community, helping them get to where they want to be.

Responsibilities:

  • With this role you'll be working as part of Edinburgh South East Recovery team, based in the south east recovery hub.

The team supports people with their drug and/or alcohol issues.- No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, and have someone on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance.

In return for the time you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You'll be making a real difference too. On a Wednesday morning we will have both mandatory and optional training sessions starting on 01/03/2023.

This is what one of our service users had to say:

- _"I was supported to make personal decisions and choices around improving my own recovery, and I never felt like I was being judged. With my coordinators support I slowly built my confidence up, so I could get back into volunteering and felt like I was part of society and giving back to my community"._

Our values are to be compassionate, open and bold. If this sounds like you we'd love to hear from you so click apply.
