The St Matthew's Centre is a multi-use community centre in the North of Glasgow that has been supporting the community to live learn and grow for over 30 years.

We have office and activity spaces available for hire, deliver our own program of activities and work with others in the community to provide support and deliver events.

We are looking for a highly motivated Operations Support Administrator to work alongside our Centre Manager to complete daily tasks that positively contribute to the work we do within our community.


Overview of the position:


This post has been developed to increase the capacity of our existing staff team and support the continued growth of our organisation.

The post holder will work closely with our Centre Manager to track funding requirements, implement and maintain administrative systems and work to ensure the building is accessible for the various building users.


Key Task and Responsibilities:

  • To support the Centre Manager with daily administrative tasks including producing minutes, diary management, participant feedback and building user support.
  • To actively support the communication needs of the organisation, including creating and monitoring content for social media channels and website.
  • To provide general administrative support to the centre including answering phone calls, processing bookings, processing mail and ensuring answer machine messages are passed on appropriately.
  • To provide general operational support to the centre including key holding responsibilities, room set up, cleaning and organisation and other tasks to ensure the building runs smoothly.
  • To support the work of St Matthew's within wider community networks with administrative and social media duties as supported by the Centre Manager.
  • To adhere to and implement safe working practices in line with the organisations policies and procedures.
  • To work flexibly and actively contribute to meetings and events in order to support the smooth running of the centre.
  • To work as part of a team to meet the needs of service users.
  • To contribute to the overall team effort and support operations by working flexible to cover staff annual leave and illness.
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests from your line manager

Skills, experience and qualifications

Essential Criteria
Experience of administrative work and supporting multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MS Office and Google Systems

Experience of the third sector funding landscape and requirements

A working knowledge of various social media platforms, management tools and Wordpress based websites

Experience of working within the community

Excellent communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Commitment to working as part of a team

Interest in developing your skills and investing in community development

Having a pleasant, welcoming manner and a _can do _attitude

Ability to maintain confidentiality
