Welcome to Janus Henderson Investors We are on the lookout for a skilled Head of Equity Investment Risk or Senior Risk Manager focusing on Equities to join our vibrant Investment Risk team. This role plays a crucial part in identifying, evaluating, and minimizing investment risks effectively, all in the pursuit of delivering exceptional results to our clients. Sounds interesting, right? - Use a variety of risk models and expert judgment based on market conditions to evaluate portfolio risks and collaborate with Portfolio Managers to enhance risk adjusted returns and manage downside risk
- Create and analyze risk attribution reports for Portfolio Managers, Senior Management, and other teams such as Marketing and Compliance
- Address all aspects of investment risk, performance, and relevant metrics to ensure portfolios are managed in the best interest of clients
- Collaborate with investment teams on risk budgeting, portfolio construction, and optimization strategies
- Assist in implementing and developing quantitative solutions and external systems for analytics and risk management
- Contribute to the establishment of infrastructure and processes for data dissemination through reporting, dashboards, and more
- Improve the infrastructure supporting the creation of risk reports across various asset classes
- Regularly liaise with the Technology team to prioritize development, ensuring consistency in approach and design across the Front Office
- Present findings to clients and a range of fund and investment trust boards
- Keep up to date with industry best practices, regulatory demands, and market changes to enhance the company's risk management framework
- Oversee and guide Risk Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness throughout the organization
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned

Let's talk about the essential skills you should bring to the table:
- Degree in relevant field like Quantitative Finance or Statistics
- Extensive experience in investment risk management within asset management or financial services industry, specializing in equities
- Profound knowledge of capital markets and derivatives instruments
- Familiarity with risk models, analytics, and stress testing
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings and influence at all organizational levels
- Proficiency in tools like Bloomberg, RiskMetrics, UBS Delta, Cognity, Barra or similar systems
- Understanding of data science applications
If you have the following additional skills, it would be a nice bonus:
- Certification like CFA, FRM, or in-progress preferred
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, MATLAB, SQL
When it comes to your role in investments:
- Responsible for supporting portfolios within the Equities Asset Class
