Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Investment Risk Manager to join our team at Impax Asset Management. As a key member of our risk management function, you will be responsible for providing independent investment and liquidity risk oversight across our Listed Investments business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investment Risk Oversight
    • Ensure that investment risk regulatory requirements are met on an ongoing basis for Impax funds within our Listed Investments strategies.
    • Provide second-line liquidity risk management and stress testing across Listed Investments, ensuring regulatory obligations are met on an ongoing basis.
  • Enterprise Risk Management
    • Work with the Head of Enterprise Risk to further develop the investment and liquidity risk elements of our enterprise risk management framework, policy, and procedures.
    • Develop and enhance automated risk monitoring and management solutions.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Proactively monitor, oversee, and engage with investment teams.
    • Prepare reports and participate in monthly risk reviews with Global CIOs, providing advice and challenge where appropriate.
    • Produce high-quality MI and risk reporting to committees and boards, providing ongoing assurance and enabling early identification and resolution of issues.
  • ESG and Climate Risk
    • Contribute to the design of the second-line risk oversight framework for the Sustainability Centre, facilitating integration of the Sustainability Centre within our enterprise risk management framework.
    • Participate in the implementation of our Net-Zero plan and various climate/sustainability-related disclosures, including TCFD/SDR/SFDR.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work in partnership with the Head of Enterprise Risk in support of the activities of our wider Investment teams and investment processes and controls.

Requirements

  • Essential
    • Experienced investment risk professional with strong knowledge of the financial services market and regulation.
    • Strong/relevant experience in investment/asset management investment risk or front-office risk analytics roles (equities, fixed income, multi-asset).
    • Experience with risk regulatory requirements (UCITS, AIFMD, and SEC) and associated risk metrics, including VaR, leverage, liquidity, and Stress Testing.
    • Experience producing high-quality, comprehensive risk MI and reports.
    • Strong experience using various tools and systems, including Bloomberg, PowerBI, SQL, and MS Office.
  • Desirable
    • Relevant academic degree or equivalent.
    • Experience with key ESG regulations and standards, including SFDR, EU Taxonomy, TCFD, UK Stewardship Code, etc.
    • Knowledge and experience across other asset classes.
