We are currently strengthening our current UK & Ireland recruitment team with the addition of a further UK-based Recruiter.

With an order book worth over €84 billion, the Group is looking to recruit 1000s worldwide and 100s in the UK & Ireland in 2023/24.

We are looking for a proactive and tenacious blue-collar Recruiter who is willing to commit to our continuing success and realise our ambition to lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, though the acquisition of the talent we require.


PURPOSE OF THE JOB


The delivery of a truly effective recruitment service, responsible for identifying and delivering the required blue-collar, technical talent into the organisation, focussing on London & the Southeast.


You will be accountable for delivering the required talent, following clear processes and corporate standards as well as meeting Service Level Agreements and targets.


Across London we have 8 Traincare Centres, and have a presence at other locations, plus Reading and Brighton outside of the capital.


ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of job requisitions / descriptions for required competencies, skills, knowledge required of successful applicants.
  • Identify and implement relevant individual sourcing activities, based upon the job position, by creatively conducting research and/or utilising a multitude of corporate and local resources.
  • Follow clear processes and corporate standards as well as meeting Service Level Agreements and targets.
  • Assist Hiring Managers and Operational HR colleagues with job requisition / description development, as well as job postings on relevant social media and job boards.
  • Ensure follow up and external job posting maintenance, adhering to the Global Employer Branding strategy.
  • Build talent pipeline through Talent Mapping projects for specific skills.
  • Travel to Alstom sites and depots, especially those in London.
  • Occasional attendance at Job/Careers Fairs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCES

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 (e.g. 2 'A' Levels), or equivalent career experience.
  • Significant experience in Recruiting / Resourcing activity (e.g. ~2+ years), and ideally including Engineering & Technical sectors.
  • Experience of having managed positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Solid experience working with Social Media (LinkedIn: LinkedIn Recruiter) and HRIS.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the importance of metrics & SLAs.
  • Ability to build a rapport with colleagues in an international organization
  • Excellent coordination and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent time management & organizational ability.
  • Aptitude in communicating with management across different functions.
  • The ability and resilience to challenge managers to ensure processes are followed and timescales are met
  • An understanding of the requirements of working in an international &/or a matrix organisation.
  • An understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken the ability to speak other European languages an advantage, but not essential.
  • Attend various locations nationwide, when required, on an ad hoc basis.

Desirable

  • Attained or studying towards a national qualification in HR Practice &/or CIPD Membership.
  • Experience of working in a matrix / multinational organisation
  • Experience of recruiting Technical / Engineering roles, within the Railway Industry
  • Knowledge of obtaining UK Work Permits and wider international mobility experience.
