We have an exciting opportunity for an Editor to join the Education team in Penguin Random House Children's for a 9-month fixed term contract, covering a period of parental leave.

In this role, you will help to develop world-class reading series and learning materials for learners of all ages.

As part of the wider team, you'll think ambitiously and creatively about what children, parents and teachers around the world want from our books, in order to build confidence and instil a lifelong love of reading and learning.


The Role

Reporting into the Senior Commissioning Editor, this role will support the team in delivering key reading series, as well as being responsible for commissioning online and supplementary materials.

You'll be involved in all stages of content development to turn a concept into a finished product, managing multiple book titles and projects simultaneously.

You will take the lead on briefing authors, freelancers and consultants, manage costs, work to schedules and coordinate prompt delivery of final files to Production.


What you'll bring

We're interested to hear from people who have experience in project managing multiple books at one time, are confident with the ins and outs of the publishing process and are excited to get stuck into the world of Education publishing.

A demonstrable interest in how children learn to read is desirable.

About the Education team

The Education department is home to carefully crafted graded readers for children learning English as a second or foreign language, in addition to reading series _Read It Yourself and Key Words, and _the award-winning _Learn with Peppa_ early learning range.


We think ambitiously and creatively about what children and teachers around the world want from our series in order to build confidence and a love of reading, and each print series is accompanied by online teacher and student support material, including audio and video.

Salary:
Circa £33,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.
