Working within the Operations Division team, you will be a member of the Land Systems Senior Leadership team.

You will be accountable for embedding new operational standards in line with the Marshall Land Systems BMS system, delivering world class standards of quality excellence, safety management and employee engagement.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountability for achieving Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and EHS results by challenging the status quo to develop class leading standards, systems and processes.
  • Driving key performance indicators against Quality, Delivery, EHS and people metrics
  • Delivery of budget specific recovery plans to agreed target schedule and cost
  • Delivery of improvement projects to achieve unit cost of production targets
  • The elimination of waste, in pursuit of tangible customer recognised value
  • Ensure that all leaders drive effective performance management, placing a strong focus on behaviour and process standards
  • Create and drive a truly effective partnership approach with the local Trade Unions, governing bodies, academic institution along with internal and external business stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment of all manufacturing & assembly strategic decisions with the strategy of the Land Systems business
  • Ensure that all business facilities remain fully compliant with site procedures and legal requirements as well as improving processes and reducing the exposure to accidents and risks
  • To drive standardisation of approach across series programmes and create an environment that encourages the sharing of best practice
  • To ensure there is a robust transnational relationship (Canada) in place that drives excellent customer satisfaction and feedback.
  • To drive teams performance and build robust succession planning
  • Partnership with the engineering function to ensure the smooth transition of designs to build
  • Partnership with programme leads to understand their schedules/ customer requirements to ensure all milestones met in production.
  • Have lead the transformation/ modernisation of a manufacturing facility
  • Have significant experience of head of or equivalent in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of new and innovative manufacturing process/ digital technology essential
  • Experience of flow line and cell based manufacturing essential
  • Have lead teams in excess of 150 heads
  • Have delivered standard and bespoke products to the customer
  • Ideally have worked in a Unionised environment
  • Hold a relevant degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Quality (or equivalent), or experience to an equivalent depth
  • In depth of experience of lean tool and techniques

Based in the UK, with operations in Canada, Marshall Land Systems specialises in the design and production of deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defence and security operations across the globe.
