About the Opportunity

We are in search of a seasoned and strategic Head of Finance to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial functions, provide strategic financial direction, and ensure the long-term fiscal stability of the organization. This position requires a proactive leader eager to engage deeply and play a vital role in a rapidly expanding scale-up company. There is potential for this role to be offered on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and long-term financial forecasting.
  • Offer strategic insights to the CEO and executive team based on financial evaluations and forecasts.

2. Financial Management:

  • Supervise all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Ensure precise and timely financial reporting in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury, and capital distribution to maximize financial outcomes.

3. Business Development and Growth:

  • Assist in fundraising initiatives, investor relations, and communications.
  • Engage in strategic planning and manage key partnerships to fulfill company objectives.
  • Participate in business development efforts to drive growth and enhance market presence.

4. Operational Excellence:

  • Optimize financial processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency.
  • Oversee financial systems and software to ensure operational effectiveness and accuracy.

About You

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior financial leadership position within a start-up, scale-up, or high-growth environment.
  • Strong expertise in financial management software, including Xero and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the med-tech or healthcare industry.
  • Experience with grants and equity financing.
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial leadership roles.
  • Experience with fundraising, investor relations, and strategic planning.
