The Head of Benchmark Administration and Governance is a key leadership role in FTSE Russell, overseeing all aspects of Benchmark Administration and Governance to ensure compliance with UK Benchmark Regulation and IOSCO Principles for Financial Benchmarks.

This position involves leading teams responsible for regulatory compliance, governance, risk management, controls, assurance, operational oversight, and data governance. The successful candidate will collaborate with risk, compliance, legal, Benchmark and Index Management, and product line teams to ensure adherence to regulations, internal policies, risk framework, and industry best practices.

The Head of Benchmark Administration and Governance plays a crucial role in shaping FTSE Russell's strategy and ensuring regulatory compliance, integrity, accuracy, and operational strength of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with UK benchmark regulation and IOSCO Principles for Financial Benchmarks
  • Develop and implement a governance framework aligning with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices
  • Lead and manage teams responsible for regulatory compliance, governance, risk management, controls, assurance, operational oversight, and data governance
  • Collaborate with risk teams to embed the enterprise risk management framework and own the risk profile
  • Develop KPIs for monitoring operational resilience and regulatory compliance
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and represent the organization's administration and governance function
  • Lead Audit efforts and address process gaps
  • Develop training plans to create subject matter expertise and enhance the risk culture
  • Ensure adherence to group policies
Experience
  • Ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in benchmarks and indices
  • Proven experience in benchmark administration and governance
  • Experience embedding risk and control frameworks in large organizations
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience with regulators in multiple jurisdictions
