Maintenance Assistant

A Top 20 Care Home Group is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to join their team at Parkfield Grange, a residential and dementia care home in Stourbridge. The ideal candidate should be reliable, hardworking, and ready to work 24 hours per week with flexible days.

The primary role of the Maintenance Assistant is to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the residents. This hands-on team player must have excellent organizational skills and preferably some experience in carpentry, gardening, electrical work, or general building maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the home, addressing faults and repairs within company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify areas for improvement and carry out preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain the home to agreed standards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents, family members, and team members.

Person Specification

  • Physically capable of performing duties with or without assistance.
  • Experience with PAT testing is beneficial but not required.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous fire training is advantageous.
