Job overview

We are recruiting Clinical Support Workers to work within the Nurse Specialist team who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You will work alongside the site specific CNS's, helping them to support patients through their challenging treatment and beyond.

The role will include assisting with holistic needs assessments, answering calls, signposting patients and acting a liaison between the patient, CNS and Medical team.

Main duties of the job

Daily communications with patients, carers and health care professionals. A main element of this will be to provide reassurance and support when needed.

You will also communicate effectively within the multidisciplinary team and other departments to ensure that patient care is well planned and coordinated.

You will provide basic telephone advice and refer on, or sign post to other specific sources of support, i.e. Welfare Benefits Advice team; Patient Support Groups.

Support patients to access the right information and support they need by signposting to a range of support services and help to enable patients to self-manage as appropriate with guidance from CNS

Coordinate the necessary assessments, appointments or investigations to fast-track people back into the system if required

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

ENHT is seeking to maintain and expand the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre staff as we move to an exciting new future.

We welcome applications from those who would relish the opportunity to be part of new and developing cancer service, building on the excellent reputation, research and patient experience the Cancer Centre already delivers.

In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,314 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata.
