Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator to join our Clinical Oncology Research Teams. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the clinical research team with all aspects of clinical trials administration, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and trust policies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of clinical trials processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for providing support to Research Nurses and the wider Clinical Research Team, supervising Band 4 Clinical Trial Coordinators, and overseeing the efficient and timely set up of clinical trials.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the clinical research team with all aspects of clinical trials administration, including data management and case report form completion.
  • Provide support to Research Nurses and the wider Clinical Research Team, including supervision of Band 4 Clinical Trial Coordinators.
  • Oversee the efficient and timely set up of clinical trials, including workforce planning and database management.
  • Assist with monitoring administration of research grants and charitable grants, ensuring compliance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Produce monthly progress reports on recruitment and trial activity.

Person Specification

We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in clinical trial administration, including data management and case report form completion.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting, including staff supervision and management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
