Business Support Service Lead

This is a key strategic role within Swindon Borough Council to support the Business Support Service Manager in managing a large team of approximately 60 Business Support Administrators and Leadership Support Officers through their Team Leaders across multiple disciplines.
Your next role
We are seeking to recruit a Business Support Service Lead within our Centralised Business Support team who are motivated, enthusiastic and team players.
You will have experience of working in an administrative-based supervisory/management role within a multi-disciplinary team and working in a performance/quality improvement environment.
Key elements of this role are:
- To directly line manage our Leadership Support Team, who provide PA-style support to our Chief Executive, Corporate Directors and Senior Leaders and The Leader of the Council, including performance management; advice and guidance; mentoring and talent development
- To Coach and mentor the Business Support Team Leaders, to develop performance, efficiency, quality & competences
- Joint responsibility in ensuring a comprehensive service is delivered by both teams through clear reporting of Key Performance Indicators, Service Level Agreement follow up and regular stakeholder engagement, with the Business Support Service Manager
- To drive through and monitor the implementation of and adherence to common business processes both manual and electronic in relation to both services and that these are mapped and communicated appropriately
- To drive the continuous improvement of Business Support and Leadership Support across the service areas and ensure joined up working with both teams through the active development of individuals, teams and processes
- You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customerfacing role")._
