We're looking for a Department Administrator to join our Business Support team based at The Portland Hospital.

What you'll do:

  • Assist with scheduling appointments and responding to all booking requests, either by phone or email.
  • Preparation for daily clinics involving collation of referral forms
  • To maintain accurate and up to date information on the databases including updating scheduling where required e.g., where consultants may have annual leave.
  • To directly support the Office Manager in implementation and follow-through of various work assignments including clinical support, medical correspondence, filing and telephone enquiries.
  • To open and distribute all mail (non-confidential)
  • Maintain stationery/stock levels liaising with all Imaging staff and stationery
  • Comply with legislative and hospital policies and procedure, ensuring patient safety.
  • Be familiar with the Hospital health and safety rules and local Radiation Protection policies.
  • Meet and greet
  • Registering patients and taking payments
  • Sending of radiology reports and electronic images
  • Provide support to the administrative staff in the department.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven capacity to protect confidentiality of the department
  • Intermediate to Advanced IT skills and experience
  • Strong verbal, written, numerical and communication skills
  • Liaising with hospital departments to organise patient procedures.
  • Be familiar with the Hospital health and safety rules and local Radiation Protection policies.
