Our team compromises of our very important backbone of the team, our one administrator, a designated professional for safeguarding adults, designated nurses for children and looked after children, a specialist nurse & designated/named doctors, all working to ensure the statutory safeguards for children, looked after children and vulnerable adults are upheld.


Bolton Locality is part of NHS GMICB Greater Manchester ICB and this means that on occasions there maybe a requirement to support other administrators within safeguarding teams across the GM footprint or within the corporate teams at Bolton Locality.

This is only anticipated to be occasional.

INFORMATION RESOURCES, ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING - the administrative role will

Undertake information/project analysis as agreed with

safeguarding team and feedback within defined timescales.

Contribute to effective information management within the team.


Participate in providing relevant information to internal and external working groups/projects and to maintain data collection systems for its effective use by the team.

Working with colleagues, to analyse and report on data and monitor the processing of data and information.

Actively supports and contributes to the development of key performance indicators for the successful assessment of performance


Working collaboratively to update annual reports, securing evidential documents as required and support the achievement of statutory requirements for the organisation.


Record annual leave and sickness for the safeguarding team, arranging appropriate cover for own role during periods of absence under the direction of line manager.


The post holder will often view sensitive and confidential information and will be required to maintain high levels of confidentiality.


Management of systems and processes for supporting the safeguarding team carrying out their functions, identifying gaps and highlighting these to the Safeguarding team.

PLANNING & ORGANISATION - the admin role support the wider team with:

Work within an integrated commissioning system to ensure maximum impact on adults at risk and measurable outcomes that ensure significant long-term difference is achieved.


Ensure that the Bolton ICS Place carries out its statutory duties in that all NHS providers have robust and effective clinical governance and safeguarding arrangements in place to include quality schedules, serious case review action plans and other relevant development plans.


Ensure robust, systems, policies, procedures, professional guidance and training programmes are in place for Bolton health services (these include child, and adult services; primary care providers, NHS Bolton commissioning and strategic services; public health) so that adults in need of safeguarding can be identified by staff at an early stage and protected from harm where possible, and effective care can be provided for adults at risk of abuse or where abuse has already occurred.


Lead on the assurance process for provider compliance with safeguarding contractual standards, supporting providers to develop action plans and to monitor these plans and report to the Quality and Safety Committee, working with the contracts team to instigate the escalation process when required.


Work with Bolton ICS Place and partners to ensure it fulfils its statutory duties for safeguarding children/adults at risk including those in nursing and care homes.

Lead on the analysis and appropriate development of services relating to adult safeguarding.


Support the specialist safeguarding team to provide health consultancy role for all partner agencies across Bolton whilst developing and implementing policies, procedures and guidance which reflect local standards of practice and multi-agency policies and procedures.
