The role of Senior Technical Sales Specialist, Single-Use Technologies Division (SUD) is to drive growth all over the United Kingdom for our Single-Use Bioprocessing Technologies.


SUD is a major part of Thermo Fisher's Bioproduction group that provides all required technologies for the development and manufacturing of life-saving biologics and vaccines.

This role primarily:

  • Drives sales projects for our outstanding portfolio of singleuse bioreactors, fermenters, mixers and other bioprocessing skids, with a significant emphasis on controlling and automation consultative selling.
  • Ensures sales growth across the entire SUD portfolio, through the collaborative and steady generation and progress of new business opportunities, together with the account management colleagues and Field Application Specialists.
  • Drives effective and positive relationships with key noncustomer third parties influencing the territory, such as Architecture & Engineering firms as well as Sales Channels and technical associations.


As custodian of SUD growth in the territory, they also will take any further action that drives fast and balanced sales development, including technical presentations, local market analysis, win/loss analysis, local events' promotion, new product launch activities, using other support functions from Thermo Fisher Scientific where applicable.

They interact every day with a large number of internal partners:

Bioproduction Managers and Inside Sales representatives of the UK as well as their Managers, Fields Application Specialists, Project Managers, Field Service Engineers just to name a few.

Position requirements:

  • Homebased work from anywhere in the UK, located conveniently to make the best out of 50% travel time (mostly domestic).
  • University degree related to life sciences and/or related to process controlling or automation.
  • Remarkable team working and influencing skills to add new value in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge in Delta V, other DCS or PLC systems and/or prior experience selling CAPEX will be preferred.
