Trainee Systemic Anti-cancer Treatment Scheduler

In this development role the trainee SACT Scheduler is responsible for supporting the senior SACT Scheduler with management and co-ordination of patients systemic anti-cancer treatment scheduling.

The scheduled treatment is given Trustwide for Oncology and Haemato-Oncology patients.


Over a period of months and completion of portfolio, you will develop to take responsibility for a demand management system, ensuring compliance with national waiting time standards and optimal utilisation of chemotherapy administration capacity.

This will be alongside the validation of reports to support the safety of patients, whilst maintaining a high standard of communication and customer service skills, in complex and sensitive situations.


The trainee Systematic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) Scheduler is responsible for supporting the trained SACT Schedulers in the accurate and timely entry of Chemotherapy patient information into KOMS patient management systems.

You will complete a robust training pathway, to help you to learn the skills needed to move into the full scheduler role.

You will gradually complete a set of competencies which will allow you to move from very simple treatments, into booking complex regimes.
