"If you're interested in managing both cloud & on-prem infrastructure at immense scale, then this role is for you. This role provides the opportunity to manage physical servers over 20 Data centres, and a huge AWS, GCP presence. – Hiring Manager

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring capacity in cloud & on-prem worlds
  • Managing / Overlooking load tests
  • Liaising with product teams to understand and forecast future demand
  • Liaising with vendors, managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts
  • Managing the budget
  • Developing and executing data centre strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Assisting in the FinOps side of Mimecast

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure and AWS architecture
  • Good knowledge of server hardware and components
  • Previous experience conducting load tests
  • Basic understanding of software architecture
  • Ability and experience in managing budgets effectively
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors and upper management
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel
  • Previous experience using dashboards and monitoring software (Graphite, Grafana, PowerBI etc.)
  • String knowledge on FinOps practices

Good to have (but not required):

  • Knowledge of a scripting language (Python)
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience negotiating contracts with vendors
