The purpose of the role is to ensure that the Council meets all of its legal obligations in relation to equipment installation and periodic safety checks within its property stock including (but not restricted to) gas, electricity, fire and asbestos associated compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration support and assisting with the Landlord Gas Safety Certification (LGSC).
  • Administration support and assisting with recording and reporting compliance testing of electrical systems.
  • Administration support and assisting of the Council's fire and asbestos risk assessment systems.
  • Administer and maintain compliance modules of the Council's property asset management system to ensure legislative compliance and support optimum service delivery performance.
  • Provide a point of contact and administrative resource for the implementation of all compliance related activity carried out directly by the Estates & Facilities Compliance Team.
  • Support the MRI Orchard implementation project team in the configuration and implementation of the upgraded Orchard Asset ICT solution including the seamless migration of data from current offline information bases.
  • Support the Risk Assurance and Compliance Manager in the administration of strategic risk improvement projects (as required and directed).
  • Investigate, resolve and respond to enquiries received from stakeholders in writing, by telephone and/or in person ensuring the Councils timescales are met.

Qualifications:

  • GSCE (or equivalent) English and Mathematics.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Experience working in a building services environment, either within a local authority Housing Department or for a private sector contractor.
  • Experience working in a customer orientated environment.
  • Experience undertaking of administrative work.
  • Customer focussed including welldeveloped communication and problem resolution skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload.
  • ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
