Community Resuscitation Trainer

London, Greater London, United Kingdom London Ambulance Service NHS Trust Full time

As the Trust continues to focus heavily on the London Lifesavers project, the CRTs dedicate a large part of their time to supporting and developing initiatives to train the public to save a life in London.

This includes developing and delivering 'pop-up' training in public areas such as major train stations, working with external partners to deliver training in a designated location and participating in large scale evets and festivals across the Trust.

The CRT will actively promote the work of the Community Resuscitation team and will play a major role in the promotion of the LAS NHS Trust with external agencies.

Post holders will be involved in seeking out new work, negotiating contracts, arranging and budgeting for new courses. They will plan, organise, implement and monitor the training delivered by the team.

  • Lead in the clinical/technical and professional development of staff and volunteers whilst promoting best practice across the Service and public sector, to improve high standards of patient care.
  • Competent in the use of available PC software to prepare and deliver the full range of training and education sessions.
  • Using a variety of presentational aids to deliver all clinical, technical and professional training courses to various audiences both internal and external including groups in excess of 30 people.
  • Conduct training sessions in a range of nonclassroom settings (e.g. commercial companies, sports centres, community centres) to ensure that students are able to manage a range of simulate incidents/situations, and to ensure that established students are updated in order to effectively operate new guidelines as required.

London Ambulance Service serves one of the worlds most dynamic and diverse cities and is the busiest ambulance service in the UK.

We handle over 1.9 million emergency calls from across the capital every year as well as delivering a 24 hour NHS 111 Integrated Urgent Care Service in South East and North East London that we estimate will respond to around 1.4million urgent care calls by the end of the year.

We employ over 9,000 people who work or volunteer, across London to respond to the health needs of over 8 million people who live, work and travel in the capital.

We work closely with our NHS partners and are commissioned by 32 clinical commissioning groups spread across 5 STPs and NHS England for our specialist services.

As the only pan-London NHS provider we have a unique opportunity to play a leading role in integrating access to emergency and urgent care right across London.
