Your Purpose

We're now looking to recruit a Operations Manager to join our brilliant Burton Brewery Team.

The Operations Manager leads and motivates Operational Teams to deliver the annual, monthly and weekly operational plans, while achieving the required level of Safety, Quality, Service and Cost. Works through a team of Shift Managers to ensure that team members are coached, trained and developed, and comply with all regulatory requirements. Leads the World Class Supply Chain Teams in area of responsibility to ensure the implementation of WCSC tools and techniques into all aspects of our operation and achieve our system health and phase progression targets

Key Responsibilities

  • Continually building the capability of operational personnel through structured personal development and training plans. Provides strong leadership and role models Our Values. Ensures the application of MCBC people management practices & creates space for effective coaching and communications, recognizing the right behaviors & outputs, & building effective partnerships upstream and downstream within supply chain.
  • The operations manger will have the ability to manage complexity and prioritise in order to efficiently perform their work. They will be expected to work in accordance with all safety / environmental legislation and maintain the standards for food/feed safety, legality, authenticity, and quality. They will role model and coach compliance to all safety and quality standards to continually improve their area of responsibility.
  • Play a leading role in setting the Annual Operating Plan for their area, including Cap Ex plans, KPI glide paths, materials, Savings Plans and overhead budgets. Track and manage delivery of the AOP in year, reacting to deviations and taking proactive corrective actions as required.
  • Translate the site CBN and Site Master plan into clear departmental policies, goals and objectives which are deployed to Shift Managers and Line Structure Teams to provide a cohesive and aligned approach. Execute a department communication process ensuring that employees at all levels are provided with clear expectations of the department objectives and are kept informed in actual performance, while providing them with the opportunity to add value and continuously improve through increasing levels of involvement.
  • Optimise efficiency and service performance in area of responsible in line with AOP and improvement glidepaths. Act as a coach and mentor for the deployment of WCSC2.0 tools, as they key mechanism for driving KPI improvement and engagement at all levels. Pillar Member for 2 pillars as required, leading the implementation of associated DMS & SWPs.

  • Significant manufacturing experience at a leadership level
  • Proven team management experience
  • Previous experience in similar industry (Brewing – FMCG)
  • Transferrable experience of CI Management Systems (six sigma, Lean, TPM etc)
