Warehouse Shift Manager – E-Commerce - 6 MONTHS INTERIM

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to lead our E-Commerce operations team in a state-of-the-art warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the Ecommerce operation, including Goods In, Picking, Replenishment, and Despatch, ensuring efficient and safe processes.
  2. Lead First Line Managers, Team Leaders, and Warehouse Colleagues, promoting a culture of health and safety and continuous improvement.
  3. Develop and implement daily/weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines to meet business targets.
  4. Collaborate with management colleagues to optimize labor planning and cross-functional working, driving operational efficiency.
  5. Motivate staff and drive a culture of health and safety and continuous improvement.
  6. Ensure all tasks are undertaken safely and completed to schedule by appropriately trained colleagues.
  7. Manage stock movements using the NAVISION (WMS) system.
  8. Report on the performance of the various teams within the shift, focusing on meeting agreed targets and goals.
  9. Labor & demand planning – construction and preparation of daily & weekly rotas/holidays/overtime hours of warehouse colleagues to deliver the warehouse plan.
  10. Liaise with agencies to ensure necessary cover and training of temporary workers to support during weekends.
  11. Manage day-to-day people issues, including absence management and disciplinaries and grievances.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience of managing warehouse colleagues in a high-volume, fast-moving operation, preferably in E-Commerce or fulfillment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and stock movement & resource planning.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and numeracy.
  • Promoting a culture of Safety and Continuous Improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Significant experience of warehouse management systems.
