We are looking to recruit an administration assistant to join the busy Catering Team based at Royal Preston Hospital. You will be a motivated individual, with excellent organisational and administrative skills and good interpersonal skills.


You must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative, work independently and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.


This could be a challenging role at times which is why It is essential that you have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritize and work under pressure with good keyboard skills.


The role will include data input, telephone answering, placing of orders with suppliers, menu collation and other clerical work as necessary.

We have 9000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure an accurate exchange of information about catering tasks and service needs
  • Communicate with a range of customers in person and over the telephone to understand individual needs and provide information relating to the catering service
  • Undertake all clerical duties, including:
  • Typing, filing and photocopying
  • Data input on various computer packages
  • Taking bookings both electronically and manually for hospitality that is provided over both hospital sites
