**Job summary**:
The position is located within the Station Staff Officer (SSO) Department at Headquarters North-West based in Preston. We are looking for an Administrative Officer to be employed as part of our fast paced and dynamic team in an exciting and rewarding post that has become available.

The position is advertised at 18.5 hours per week job share.

**Job description**:
Responsible to the Station Staff Officer for all administrative support:
An integral member of the wider team dealing with multiple agencies. The successful applicant will need to be organised, a good communicator and possess IT/Office skills.

The role of Administrative Officer is rewarding and challenging, requiring great interpersonal skills to deal with the diverse range of functions that fall within the remit of the role. They will be responsible for Building Manager follow up of works orders to completion. Provide front of house support to customers of the Barracks. Ensure that local direction/instructions within Fulwood Barracks are both accurate and in accordance with Joint Service Publications (JSP) 101 and the Standing Orders (SO). Control the Fulwood Barracks Standing Order (FBSO) library and the update and issue of the Memorandum Of Understandings (MOUs).

Assist the Station Staff Officer with the smooth running of the department and administrative tasks, including support to the Post Room.
- To be the Building Manager focal point arranging work schedules and repair work for a safe environment for those living on site: Arrange escorts and work schedules

Enable access to buildings.

Liaise with and notify occupants of works.

Follow up to ensure works completion.
- Provide front desk cover within the SSO department for on-site customers and contractors.
- Control the Fulwood Barracks Standing Order (FBSO) Library and the update and issue of MOUs.
- Assist with the fault reporting and hastening of repairs in conjunction with the Barracks Manager.
- Provide cover for the processing of Part One orders admin, production of all on site order and follow up on any other admin orders/registers as required by the LM.
- Provide cover in HQNW post room in line with JSP 367 as agreed by the LM, ensuring cost effective post usage, advising users on process/action and ensuring the security of all post under the post room control.
- To attend meetings on behalf of the Station Staff Officer acting the representative at meeting and relaying action points and points of interest.
- Meeting bookings coordinator and minute taking as part of the admin duties.

There are opportunities for on-the-job training and familiarisation of the site and the many buildings users, lodgers and the dedicated functions of the areas on site. The post deals directly with military personnel and civilian staff working on site, so knowledge of the Armed Forces and their structure is desirable but not essential for the role.
