You will have 3 National 4's, or equivalent and SVQ Level 2 in Care or ability to obtain within specified timescale.
ResponsibilitiesYou will attend to personal needs of residents. The duties will include physical tasks for example, helping with personal care tasks, assisting residents to eat and other identified needs. Our aim is to create a supportive homely atmosphere where residents can achieve maximum independence but also receive any support they may need. Duties will include carrying out any identified duties required to meet the personalised care needs of our residents. You will also be required to be involved in social activities organised for residents. The duties as set out above include undertaking cleaning and other domestic duties as necessary.
The Individual
You will have experience of working with older people, people with dementia or physical disabilities. You will have good personal care skills, written/oral communication skills. You will have the ability to work in a team and work on own initiative. You will have good organisational skills, be dependable and self-reliant.
You will have the ability to remain calm in a crisis, be assertiveness, and the ability to predict outcomes and take necessary precautions.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act .
The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
