Social Care Worker

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Officer to join our team at Dundee City Council. As a Social Care Officer, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents in one of our care homes for the elderly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to the personal needs of residents, including physical tasks such as helping with personal care, assisting with food and drink, and other identified needs.
- Assume key worker status and complete personal plans for residents.
- Organise reviews and carry out identified duties to meet the personalised care needs of residents.
- Be involved in social activities organised for residents and administer medication (training provided).
- Work on a rota basis, including dayshift, nightshift, and weekends.
Requirements:
- SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or the ability to achieve this.
- Experience of working with older people, people with dementia, or physical disabilities.
- Good personal care skills, written/oral communication skills, and the ability to work in a team and on own initiative.
- Good organisational skills, dependability, and self-reliance.
- The ability to remain calm in a crisis, be assertive, and predict outcomes and take necessary precautions.
