Job Title: Social Care Worker

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Care Worker to join our team at Dundee City Council. As a Social Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their own homes in the community, attending to their assessed personal and social care needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist service users and carers in improving the quality of their life
• Maintain service users in their own homes in the community
• Assist service users and carers in improving the quality of their life
• Work as part of a team to provide high-quality care and support
• Use your own initiative to meet the needs of service users
• Show sensitivity and understanding in dealing with vulnerable people
• Be non-judgmental with a caring, pleasant, and professional approach

Requirements:
• SVQ2 or ability to undertake training to achieve this award within a specified timeframe
• Ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time
• Past/present caring experience to a high standard
• Good written/oral communication skills
• Ability to work as a team member and alone
• Ability to use your own initiative

Working Arrangements:
• Part-time, 25 or 30 hours per week, split shifts, including 7 am start, late shifts, and weekends
• Full, current driving licence required
• Further study/training required

Regulated Work:
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
